'2026 Gyeonggi Performing Arts Meeting' Concludes, Connecting 23 Theaters and 180 Arts Groups

The inaugural 2026 Gyeonggi Performing Arts Meeting (GPAM) was held June 26–27 around Gyeonggi Arts Center in Suwon, drawing about 2,000 participants. Built on a network of 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, GPAM brought together 23 domestic and international venues (18 domestic, 5 overseas) and some 180 arts organizations to boost distribution and collaboration for performing arts. The first Gyeonggi Performing Arts Awards honored Maholah Company’s production Shinawi: Order in Chaos as the grand prize winner among 227 entries. The event featured special talks with international experts from Hong Kong, Yokohama, the European Theatre Convention, Australia and Scotland; one-on-one meetings between venues and creators to discuss collaborations, co-productions and tours; pitch sessions and showcases; and an invited Australian art circus piece, In Common. Side programs included a charity flea market “Art & Share” and the “ON STAGE: Gyeonggi” performances. Gyeonggi Arts Center Director Kim Sang-hoe said GPAM demonstrates a functioning cycle of discovering quality work, connecting creators with venues, and reaching audiences. The center will continue the 2026 G-Arts Festival through July 31.
