The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) signed a partnership with low-cost carrier T'way Air to attract more foreign visitors through regional airports and to revitalize local tourism around Daegu and North Gyeongsang. Initial promotions will target nearby markets like Japan and Taiwan, bundling air tickets with regional benefits such as food vouchers and welcome kits at Daegu Airport. KTO’s Daegu-Gyeongbuk office will run a hospitality booth and distribute consumption coupons. They will also develop an extended K-heritage (K-헤리티지) travel product linking Daegu city attractions with Gyeongju’s millennium heritage and Andong’s traditional culture to create multi-day stay routes. T'way plans to gradually raise the share of foreign passengers on Daegu routes and support overseas marketing, with the partnership expected to expand to other regional airports (e.g., Gimhae, Cheongju, Jeju, Yangyang). KTO said the collaboration aims to strengthen inbound arrivals from nearby key markets and boost regional tourism stays and spending.
