Evening Museum Walks: Curator Talks at National Museum of Korea

The National Museum of Korea will hold weekly 'Curator Talks' every Wednesday evening in July at 6:00 and 7:00 PM during its night openings. The program includes 20 talks across special and permanent exhibitions, featuring four sessions on 'Amazing Thailand: Masterpieces of Thai Art' (a special exhibition introducing Thai culture and art), six sessions on 'Our Table' (exploring the meaning of shared meals), and curator-led explanations of key works and exhibition intent. Permanent gallery topics include Baekje archaeology (e.g., the Muryeong King's Queen's crown ornaments from the tomb in Gongju), Silla crowns and their symbolism, Goryeo Buddhist culture, Joseon documentary culture, the East Asian Pensive Bodhisattva (반가사유상) in the contemplative room, themes on painter Kim Hong-do (단원 김홍도) and artwork restoration, ceramics featuring bamboo motifs, celadon incense burners, and Islamic textiles and patterns. Talks run 30 minutes at 6:00–6:30 PM and 7:00–7:30 PM; no prior registration or group limit is required. Permanent exhibitions are free; special exhibitions charge admission and do not allow re-entry after exit.
