Korean Media Artists Win Honorary Mentions at Ars Electronica 2026

Two Korean media artists, the duo Uju+Lim Hee-young and artist Lee Jung-woo, received Honorary Mentions at the prestigious Ars Electronica 2026 awards. Uju+Lim won in the Interactive Art Plus category for their work “There Are No Birds,” and Lee was honored in the New Animation Art category for “Written Film, To Be Written History.” Both projects had been supported last year by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s interdisciplinary arts grant. Ars Electronica, an influential Austrian media art institution, ran the competition that drew 4,329 entries from 106 countries this year.
