L'ÉCOLE, the jewelry school sponsored by Van Cleef & Arpels, opened a temporary Seoul campus at Futūra Seoul through July 15. The program offers lectures, workshops, exhibitions (including a special emerald show), panel talks and hands‑on classes for general audiences — children and teens included — aiming to lower barriers to jewelry culture and highlight craftsmanship and artistic value. Lise MacDonald, president of L'ÉCOLE, said the Seoul campus reflects Korea’s strong interest in contemporary and traditional arts and provides a ‘public square’ where experts and the public can explore jewelry history, gemology and making techniques. The curriculum links Korean heritage (including Silla-era pieces) with Western traditions like Celtic torque restoration, emphasizing stories and skill over price or carat weight.
