The 2026 Busan Mobility Show opened at BEXCO with 141 companies from 12 countries showcasing 1,961 booths under the theme “Opening the Road of Tomorrow.” Major Korean automakers unveiled key models for the second half of the year: Hyundai revealed the world premiere of the all-new 8th-generation Avante with its PLEOS Connect system and showcased PBV (purpose-built vehicles) and a high-performance hypercar concept; Kia expanded its PV5-based lineup and displayed PBV partnership vehicles including an AI patrol car for the police; Genesis highlighted high-performance ambitions by presenting the GMR-001 hypercar design model (Asia debut) after completing Le Mans. Global brands also presented headline models: BMW showed the limited-edition 135-unit 7 Series Nero Russo edition (first domestic display), MINI revealed the all-electric JCW AceMan, and BMW Motorrad brought the M 1000 RR. BYD emphasized hybrid diversification, introducing its DM-i dual-mode intelligent hybrid tech and likely PHEV models to complement its EV lineup. Industry observers say these debuts mark an aggressive push for market leadership in the second half of the year.
