Chuncheon Symphony Recreates Hoban Music Festival Highlights with Guitarist Park Kyu-hee

The Chuncheon City Symphony Orchestra performs its 185th regular concert “Heritage of Time 3—Colors of Heritage” on the evening of the 26th, led by conductor Song Yu-jin with guest soloist guitarist Park Kyu-hee. The program revisits works by composers who transformed folk sentiment into artistic color. Park opens with Manuel de Falla’s The Three-Cornered Hat Suite No.2 and performs Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, showcasing the dynamic timbre of the Spanish guitar (classical Spanish guitar). Park, a world-renowned guitarist with nine international competition wins, previously received strong acclaim presenting the same pieces with the orchestra at the Hoban Music Festival (Hoban Music Festival). The concert continues with suites including Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No.1, with ten selected movements drawn from the theatrical collaborations between Grieg and playwright Henrik Ibsen.
