The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has secured a large incentive tour of about 5,000 people from China’s Wuliangye (五粮液) group. The tour will arrive in two waves of roughly 2,500 people each via the Adora Cruise departing from Shanghai: the first from June 25–29 and the second from June 29–July 3, visiting Jeju and Busan. Wuliangye, a state-owned baijiu (Chinese distilled liquor) producer based in Yibin, Sichuan, was targeted through KTO’s Chengdu office’s tailored marketing, noting the region’s concentration of major liquor brands. The deal follows KTO CEO Park Seong-hyuk’s March business sales trip and builds on a strategic partnership with Adora Cruise to expand domestic ports of call and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) tourism. Local governments will host welcome events including samulnori (traditional percussion) performances and hanbok (traditional Korean dress) protocol teams.
