Target, a major US retail chain, will introduce a dedicated 'K-Beauty' section in over 1600 stores starting February. This initiative, led by the Korean-American company Unlockt Brands, will showcase brands such as Joseon Beauty, Skin1004, Roundlab, Torriden, and Ingredient Editor. The move marks the first permanent K-Beauty section in a large North American offline channel, transitioning from primarily online sales. The beauty and personal essentials category is significant for Target, contributing $32 billion to its $110 billion total sales. Unlike stores like Sephora or Ulta Beauty, Target caters to all age groups and offers trendy product curation. Unlockt Brands views this as a strategic opportunity to boost brand value and reach in the US beauty trend hub. Previously, Unlockt Brands introduced the gel nail brand Ohora in Target and Walmart stores in 2024.
