Baemin Prioritizes Cutting Delivery Fees with New 'Integrated Discount'

Baemin (배달의민족) will introduce an "integrated discount" on July 13 that applies discounts to the customer’s delivery fee (배달팁) first, then uses any remaining discount toward the food price. The change shifts benefits from food-price discounts to lower delivery-fee burden, responding to consumer sensitivity: restaurants offering delivery-fee discounts saw up to 4.6 times higher order conversion. Two merchant plans differ: one (알뜰배달) fully covers the customer delivery fee within the discount limit, while the other (한집배달) leaves 1,000 won of the fee and applies the rest to the order. To ease the transition, Baemin will subsidize part of delivery-fee discount costs for eligible merchants from July 13 through October 10. The move aims to boost order conversions and support restaurant growth by reducing immediate delivery-cost pain for customers.
