Seoul Ranks Asia No.1, World No.3 for International Conferences

Seoul has emerged as a leading global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions/Events) city, hosting 216 international conferences last year—making it Asia’s top city and third worldwide. The survey by the Union of International Associations analyzed 9,281 conferences across 1,445 cities; Vienna and Brussels ranked first and second. Lisbon and Tokyo placed fourth and fifth. Seoul’s sustained status follows efforts by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Foundation to support conference attraction, promotion, and hosting through programs like 'PLUS SEOUL' and partnerships (e.g., with INCON). The city also earned recent travel awards, reinforcing its reputation as a high-value MICE destination. Seoul officials said they will continue strategic support to grow the MICE sector.
