Jeju Island officials were making final preparations at Gimnyeong Beach in Gungu-eup, Jeju City, one day before the scheduled opening of designated swimming beaches. Lifeguards and staff completed safety checks and facilities ahead of the 2026 summer bathing season. (Gimnyeong Beach is a popular local beach on Jeju Island.)
