Seoul Dragon City, a lifestyle hotel complex in Yongsan, launches a premium HMR (home meal replacement) called “Black Hwagho Native Chicken Samgyetang” on the 25th via its online mall and KakaoTalk Gifts. Targeting the growing market for premium at-home dining amid high prices, the product uses native Korean chicken (토종닭) known for firmer, chewier meat and a lighter fat content, producing a clear, deep broth. The samgyetang incorporates black ginseng processed by the traditional nine-steam-nine-dry method (구증구포) to enhance sweetness and umami, and black dried shiitake mushrooms (흑화고) for a deep aroma and chewy texture. Developed by the hotel’s chefs with long-simmered stock to intensify flavor, the ready-to-heat meal requires no complex prep and suits peak summer “boyang” restorative eating and gift-giving. Seoul Dragon City plans to expand its premium HMR lineup and seasonal gift sets following its earlier premium kimchi release.
