Chuncheon Art Fair 'Art Road' Opens to Connect Artists and Visitors

The 2026 Chuncheon Art Fair 'Art Road: Chuncheon Art Yard' opened on June 20 at the Chuncheon Museum, bringing together 50 visual artists who display about 200 works including painting, sculpture and crafts. Now in its fourth year and organized by the Chuncheon Artists Association, the fair highlights the historical and cultural value of Chuncheon Art Yard (Chuncheon Yeisul Madang) and nearby Okcheon-dong to promote local art hubs and encourage citizens to enjoy and collect art. Dignitaries at the opening included the association president Kim Deok-rim, Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Dong-han, lawmaker Heo Yeong and arts federation head Ahn Gwang-su; the event featured a congratulatory performance by Klang Ensemble. The fair runs through the 24th with programs such as a 'Kids Art Collector' workshop for elementary students, a lecture on revitalizing the Korean art market by gallery director Jang Hyun-geun, and a docent tour of the exhibits and spaces.
