Ghibli and Disney OSTs Performed by Flute Orchestra in Daegu

On June 27 at 5 PM, Daegu Seogu Cultural Center will host the “Kind Orchestra Series II: Ghibli & Disney Animation Concert” featuring the Daegu Flute Orchestra. The program blends flute ensemble performances with vocalists, actors, theater, and video to present arrangements of film music including Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, Bruchaldi’s Festa di Venezia, and beloved OSTs from Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast. Composer and commentator Jeong Eun-shin will provide program notes, with vocalist Estelle and actors Park Ji-soo and Lee Yeon-jin joining the stage. The series is part of Seogu Cultural Center’s arts programming (a 문예회관 특성화 지원사업, a cultural center specialization support project) and will continue with a cinema concert in August and an opera gala in November. The center director hopes the concert will foster a warm connection to the world of the flute and to orchestral music.
