Exhibition of Winners from the 2026 'Love for Children' Photo Contest

An exhibition of winning entries from the 2026 'Love for Children' (아이사랑) Photo Contest will run June 23–28 at Daebaek Plaza Gallery A. Hosted by Daegu City and the Maeil Newspaper, the contest invited photos capturing memories with loved children to reflect on family happiness and value. From 1,400 submissions nationwide, 46 works were awarded. The grand prize went to Im Chan-hoon (Daegu Buk-gu) for 'Water Play'; excellence awards went to No Hee-wan (Daejeon Seo-gu) for 'Four Children and Staking Game' and Seong Hyun-ho (Ulsan Nam-gu) for 'Growing Strong Like a Tree.' Jury chair Kim Jong-su (former Daegu University professor) said families remain like enduring mountains and rivers, and hoped the contest would remind people of family importance amid busy modern life. An awards ceremony will be held at the gallery on June 27 at 2 p.m., and winning photos are also viewable on the Maeil Newspaper photo gallery (www.imaeil.com).
