Communication (a collective and magazine) presents a joint group exhibition titled “2026 Daegu Artist Run Space” from June 23–28 at Bongsan Culture Center (4th gallery) and Bangcheon Yega (near Bangcheon Market, a renovated hanok). At Bongsan, “list” showcases seven artists previously featured in racket magazine, including Kwon Ki-chul (dynamic abstraction on hanji (traditional Korean paper)), Kim Dae-il (calligraphic deconstructions repeating the word “dream”), and Kim Mi-so (layered pigments mourning memory and loss). At Bangcheon Yega, eight experimental artists work across painting, sculpture, and installation, highlighting emerging figures discovered by Communication—such as Min Seong-jin (light dispersion and “Pierrot’s tears”), Kang Bo-su (“fake relics” in clay and glass), Shin So-young (canvas works titled “Mountain of Mind”), and sculptor Lee Shin-hee (projecting the concept of zero onto organic egg forms). The opening on June 23 at 6 PM includes a combined ceremony and a seminar led by Communication director and artist-curator Jeong Se-yong, who will discuss artist-run spaces and the value of artist-led solidarity. Jeong emphasizes the show’s focus on spaces artists create and operate themselves as sites of community and agency.
