Halal-Certified Hoengseong Beef Wins Over Muslim Community in Seoul; Local Livestock Farmers Celebrated

Hoengseong County and Hoengseong KC promoted Halal-certified Hoengseong hanwoo (Korean beef) at a tasting event on June 19 at the Korea Muslim Federation (KMF) center in Hannam-dong, Seoul. About 1,500 servings of premium grilled sirloin were prepared after prayer for Muslims living in Korea, who praised the flavor and quality. Organizers used QR-coded leaflets to drive consumers to the producer’s online shop and aim to expand B2B supply chains and future exports by showcasing the product to diplomats from roughly 34 Muslim-majority countries. Meanwhile in Hoengseong, the 8th Hoengseong Livestock Day honored local farmers and industry leaders for contributions to regional development, featured team sports and promotional activities to boost consumption, and included a booth for pet adoption awareness. The dual events highlight efforts to broaden market access for premium local beef while celebrating the local livestock community.
