In Seoul’s Sinsa-dong, Acid House is a light-filled restaurant inspired by Nordic (North European) dining and the concept of pleasant acidity. Owners Woo Hee-hyun and chef Jose-hee blend French training with Danish influences to highlight natural sour notes: house-made naturally fermented sourdough and rye breads, cloud-like whipped butter, runny eggs, cheese, and jams made from Korean quince (mogwa). Signature dishes include a Danish-style brunch plate, a tomato-citrus salad with seasonal Airum tomatoes, and a shrimp smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich). The venue serves bright natural European wines and attracts many Nordic visitors; the team aims to share the “pleasant acidity” found in food, wine, and coffee as a cheerful part of everyday life.
