Tourism Agency and 8 Local Governments Launch Southwest Jeonnam Tourism Governance Council

The Korea Tourism Organization’s Gwangju-Jeonnam office has launched the 'Southwest Jeonnam Themed Tourism Governance Council' with eight local governments and related agencies to develop regional, linked tourism products. Members include cultural and tourism foundations or councils from Gangjin, Mokpo, Sinan, Yeongam, Wando, Jangheung, Jindo and Haenam. The expert working group will use marine tourism resources to create themed, stay-focused itineraries that connect neighboring areas — operating in three-unit clusters called 'Gang-Hae-Yeong' (Gangjin–Haenam–Yeongam), 'Hae-Wan-Jin' (Haenam–Wando–Jindo) and 'Mok-Sin-Hae' (Mokpo–Sinan–Haenam) — and jointly plan and sell packaged tours with travel platforms and local governments.
