First Anti-Cancer Drug for Dogs Debuts in Korea

Korean biopharma company, Vaxcell-Bio, launched 'Boxlukin-15', the country's first anti-cancer immunotherapy for dogs. With dogs showing a higher probability of cancer compared to humans, this medication targets diseases like lymphoma and mammary gland cancer. Using cytokine Interleukin-15, Boxlukin-15 activates immune cells for enhanced cancer-fighting effects. The drug's introduction aims to address the lack of specialized cancer treatments for pets, which previously had to rely on human medications with uncertain efficacy and side effects. The company plans to expand its applications and export internationally.
