The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, together with the Hansik Promotion Agency, announced they are holding a Korean culinary competition for locals in 13 foreign diplomatic missions. The event aims to increase interest in Korean cuisine worldwide by allowing foreign participants to cook and showcase dishes using Korean ingredients, thereby promoting the use of Korean agricultural products. Each diplomatic mission will receive support funds and materials totaling around 1,100,000 KRW. This year's competition celebrates the inscription of the Korean 'jang (traditional fermented sauce) making culture' on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, emphasizing the excellence of traditional 'jang' and the deep flavors of Korean cuisine.
