Seoul Namsan Gugakdang (a traditional Korean arts venue) is searching for young artists to create new performances based on traditional arts. The "Young Gugak Director" project, in its 8th year, will select 4 teams for a showcase with a creation grant of 2 million won. Two teams will receive further support, including a 10 million won production grant, marketing services, and rehearsal space. These teams may perform in Seoul Namsan Gugakdang's planned program and show their work at the 2025 Seoul Art Market. Applicants must be under 40 years old and active in traditional arts. Interested parties can apply online by April 5. This initiative, launched in 2017 as part of a collaboration between the Seoul city government and Crown-Haitai, aims to boost creativity in traditional arts by supporting young creators.
