Chuncheon Puppet Festival Secures Government Funding

The Chuncheon Puppet Festival has successfully obtained government funding of approximately 378 million KRW (around 284,000 USD) to ensure stable operations for the upcoming 24th UNIMA Congress and Chuncheon World Puppet Festival. The funds are secured through various government support programs centered on performance arts distribution and arts specialization. However, the festival still seeks additional sponsorship from local governments and companies due to increased self-funding needs. The festival aims to become a public art space filled with diverse cultural and art programs. A supplemental budget of 1.5 billion KRW (about 1.1 million USD) is still pending submission to the National Assembly due to government fiscal tightening and tax revenue decrease.
