On May 23, the first 'Tasty Jeju Buckwheat (memil)' cooking contest took place at Boromwat in Seongeup-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju. Organized as part of the 2026 Seoul Food Festival, the event showcased Jeju's signature ingredient buckwheat and promoted the island's food culture and its modern culinary potential to domestic and international food professionals.
