The Byeokgolje Agricultural Culture Museum in Gimje, South Korea, is exhibiting 'Mokgireogi' (Wooden Geese) as part of its monthly collection show until April 13th. These wooden geese are significant in traditional Korean weddings as they symbolize love and fidelity, used in the 'Jeonanrye' ritual where the groom visits the bride's family. Originating from China, this custom became a staple in Korean weddings during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties. Wooden geese represent harmony and loyalty in marriage, drawing from the natural habits of geese which mate for life and do not seek new partners if one is lost.
