The Chiang Mai Tourism Board, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Seoul office, held the “Amazing Chiang Mai Roadshow to Korea 2026” in Busan (May 12) and Seoul (May 14) to promote Chiang Mai’s upgraded tourism infrastructure and distinct offerings to the Korean travel industry. Over 30 Chiang Mai businesses—hotels, travel agencies, a northern golf resort association and major attractions—met with 31 Busan and 43 Seoul travel agencies in 1:1 tabletop sales to exchange product information and build partnerships. A presentation themed “Chiang Mai: the heart of Northern Thailand, where cultural heritage meets modern lifestyle” highlighted the new Incheon–Chiang Mai direct flight, Chiang Mai’s 730-year history (a UNESCO World Heritage context), and five must-experience elements—see, eat, seek, buy, beat. The city’s year‑round festivals across spring, summer, green season, and winter and its modern wellness offerings were also showcased. Officials expressed hope for practical business outcomes and welcomed Korean visitors; the event concluded with prize draws including round‑trip tickets sponsored by Air Busan and local hotel stays. The roadshow confirmed Chiang Mai’s varied tourism resources and potential for solid cooperation with Korea’s travel sector.
