Professor Jung Kang-hwan to Enter Festival Industry Hall of Fame

Professor Jung Kang-hwan from Paichai University will be the first Asian to be inducted into the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) Hall of Fame in 2025. Recognized for his significant contributions to global festival exchanges and the development of festivals in Asia, he has been influential in creating locally-driven festival trends which address societal challenges like aging population and urban decline. Jung's notable initiatives include the Boryeong Mud Festival, which has become renowned for fostering international festival collaboration. He has also served as the IFEA Asia Chapter President since 2019, further promoting festival exchanges worldwide.
