Korean Cellist Lee Jung-ran's Solo Performance: Sibelius, Ryu Jeajoon, Grieg

On December 15th, renowned Korean cellist Lee Jung-ran will perform a solo recital titled 'Elegy' at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center. The program features works by Sibelius, Ryu Jeajoon, and Grieg, embracing themes of sorrow and solace. Accompanying Lee is pianist Ilya Rashkovskiy, a professor at Sungshin Women's University. Highlighted pieces include Sibelius's 'Malinconia' and Ryu Jeajoon's 'Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3,' dedicated to the legendary cellist Arto Noras. The performance concludes with two works by Grieg, including a rearranged violin sonata and a cello sonata. Lee Jung-ran, a celebrated artist who has won numerous competitions, also fosters young talent as a guest professor at Yonsei University and is active in several prestigious music ensembles.
