Comic World 332, a large amateur manga and cosplay (costume play) festival held May 2–3 at Suwon Messe, drew police attention and public criticism after piles of unattended luggage, litter, and hygiene issues appeared near Suwon Station. Organizers warned on social media that illegally stored bags prompted police reports and urged attendees to remove items. Despite rules restricting cosplay to indoor and a small outdoor area, a revealing Pikachu cosplay (Pikachu: popular Pokémon character) circulated online and prompted further complaints; some witnesses said police had been called over the exposure. Attendees cleaned parts of the site, but critics warned repeated problems could lead to bans on cosplay events in Suwon or elsewhere. Organizers said persistent neighborhood complaints have put the future of the event in the city at risk and warned that some Seoul venues have already stopped hosting cosplay shows.
