Gwanak Mountain, located in Seoul, offers thrilling hiking courses, especially the Eight Peaks (Palbong Ridge) trail. A popular route starts from Seoul National University, involves a return loop including parts of the Palbong Ridge, and takes about 3 hours and 50 minutes. There are various descending paths, one leading to Sadang Ridge, the longest but most scenic. Alternatively, hikers can choose the easier descent towards Gwacheon Hyanggyo (a Confucian school) or Anyang Art Park, both offering different challenges and scenic views. The trails are accessible from nearby subway stations and connected by buses. These routes offer a blend of natural beauty, physical challenge, and accessibility, making them a favorite among hikers.
