Popular Beaches in Jeju: Tourists Prefer Hamdeok and Hyeopjae, Locals Favor Samyang and Gangjeong

According to the analysis by Jeju Tourism Organization using data from T-map navigation, tourists in Jeju prefer popular and scenic spots like Hamdeok and Hyeopjae Beaches, as well as easy-to-climb Oreum (volcanic hills) such as Geum Oreum, Saebyeol Oreum, and Yongnuni Oreum. On the other hand, Jeju locals tend to favor quieter and more accessible locations such as Samyang Beach and Gangjeong Port, and more challenging Oreum like Keun Nokome Oreum and Dajeong Oreum for their leisure. Tourists enjoy famous trails like Bijarim and Saryeoni Forest Path, while locals choose accessible parks and Plum blossom roads. This study reveals the differing preferences between tourists seeking the essence of Jeju and locals seeking day-to-day relaxation.
