A Collaborative 'Arirang' Performance of Namdo and Gangwon Korean Traditional Music

The Gangwon Provincial Korean Orchestra and Namdo National Gugak Center will hold a joint concert at the Gangneung Art Center on November 18. This event aims to support the establishment of the National Gugak Center's Gangwon branch in Gangneung. The concert features both groups performing regional traditional music, including 'Gangwon Arirang', 'Namdo Arirang', and a concert piece for samulnori (traditional Korean percussion music). The orchestra is conducted by former director No Buyoung, who reunites with Gangwon after a decade. This cross-regional collaboration highlights the harmony of regional sounds and aims to foster cultural cooperation between areas. Tickets are priced at 10,000 KRW (Korean won).
