A global outbreak of measles is underway, with a significant increase in cases, including a rise in South Korea. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency reported 16 cases this year as of October 6th. Many infections were linked to travel, especially to Vietnam, with a high percentage of cases in individuals with unknown or no vaccination history. Measles, a highly contagious respiratory disease, is spread through air via coughs and sneezes. The World Health Organization predicts a significant increase in global cases, urging caution and recommending accelerated vaccination for infants when visiting outbreak-affected areas like Vietnam.
