The launch of the next-generation space telescope 'SPHEREx', jointly developed by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and NASA, has been delayed for the eighth time. Initially planned for late last month, the launch has been postponed by about two weeks due to weather conditions and other preparatory issues. However, the mission remains on track, as schedule adjustments are common in the aerospace industry to ensure safety. Previous prominent NASA missions, like the James Webb Space Telescope and Artemis 1 project, also experienced multiple delays before successful launches. SPHEREx aims to map the universe in infrared, offering 3D representation and physical information on about one billion celestial objects over its two-year mission.
