Dining Brands Group (operator of bhc Chicken) reported a 23% rise in operating profit to 164.5 billion won last year and achieved record annual sales of 614.7 billion won — the first time a Korean chicken franchise group surpassed 600 billion won. Strong demand for new menu items like 'Kwasak King' and 'Sweet Chili King' helped: Kwasak King sold 7 million units in about a year and Sweet Chili King exceeded 1 million sales within three months. Average annual sales per franchise improved by over 20%, supported by stable supply despite challenges in fresh and portioned chicken procurement. Gross profit margin dipped to 37.0% from 38.8% as the company minimized price increases to franchises amid rising input costs, while operating margin rose to 26.8%. The parent holding, Global Gourmet Services, received 141 billion won in dividends from Dining Brands, up nearly 20 billion won year-on-year; private equity firm MBK Partners holds a 45% stake in the holding company.
