Ramada Plaza Gwangju Hotel has been rebranded as BREEV Gwangju by Lotte Hotels & Resorts, and Ramada Plaza Chungjang Hotel reopened as L7 Chungjang by Lotte Hotel. BREEV, the new Lotte brand launched about ten years after L7, transforms the former Ramada into a business-focused yet lifestyle-oriented hotel with 123 rooms across basement 3 to 17 floors, meeting rooms, fitness, and varied F&B outlets including a gallery-cafe, Chinese banquet restaurant, and a rooftop buffet. Located in Gwangju’s Sangmu business district—close to city hall, the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center (김대중컨벤션센터), Gwangju Airport, and Songjeong Station—the hotel targets corporate and MICE demand while offering spaces for relaxation and recharge. L7 Chungjang, in Dong-gu’s artistic Chungjang-ro (충장로), is a 95-room urban lifestyle hotel designed as “The Urban Canvas,” aimed at MZ generation travelers, creative guests, and business visitors. It features a cafe-breakfast space called Floating, Chinese restaurant Ban Ri Xian, and a large exterior mural that symbolically reflects Gwangju’s democratic history. Both reopenings signal a reshaping of Gwangju’s hotel market toward branded lifestyle and business-hybrid offerings.
