Chuncheon city in Gangwon Province will hold the Chuncheon Makguksu-Dakgalbi Festival from October 14–18, expanding the event to five days and making October the regular month. The festival will transform from a food-centered fair into a stay-oriented K-gastronomy (K-misik, Korean gourmet) experience by adding hands-on programs like packaged makguksu (buckwheat noodles) and dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) kits, horseback riding, expanded picnic and rest areas by the riverside, and shuttle-linked tours to local attractions such as Samaksan Cable Car, Legoland, and the Soyanggang Skywalk. Organizers aim to attract 500,000 visitors and generate 15 billion won in local spending, while improving facilities and dining spaces after last year’s feedback.
