Galleria Department Store in Seoul is hosting a pop-up store for Hanmiyo Baesi Toga Purecera until April. Purecera, a brand with a 285-year history, is run by the Bae family who specialize in producing unique ceramics called 'Puregi.' These ceramics are characterized by a unique bluish-black color achieved through a carbon-infusion technique at high temperatures without glaze, taking about three years to produce. Some pieces are even recognized by the US FDA as medical devices for their purification capabilities. This exhibition features 50 Puregi items, including teapots and vases, with prices ranging from 500 million to 3 billion Korean Won. Ba Eun-Kyung, the 9th-generation owner, aims for these ceramics to become heirloom cultural assets.
