Yanggu County in South Korea reported nearly doubling visitor numbers at the National Center Observatory, with 9,013 visitors last year, attributed to a variety of programs including the 'Byeolmyeong' program, where visitors can watch the stars with their pets ('Byeolmyeong' is a portmanteau of 'byeol', meaning star, and 'myeong', meaning bark). The observatory will continue these popular programs monthly, starting next month, aiming to provide a variety of astronomical experiences. Additional activities like children's science camps and the Chuseok lunar festival are planned to attract tourists.
