The Baekryeonsa Temple Camellia Festival in Gangjin, South Jeolla Province, South Korea, is set to open on the 14th for three days. Visitors can engage in various activities like making lotus seed snacks and enjoy scenic walking paths and photo spots. On the 15th, a special temple cuisine contest will offer unique culinary experiences. Baekryeonsa is historically significant, as it was frequently visited by Jeong Yak-yong (Joseon dynasty scholar) during his exile, who went to meet head monk Hyejang. The temple is surrounded by a camellia forest designated as a natural monument. Gangjin aims to promote the festival with a 'half-price travel' initiative, hoping to grow as a cultural city.
