Egyptian artist Wael Shawky has brought his new piece 'Love Story', a reinterpretation of Korean folktales using traditional Korean music, to the Daegu Museum of Art. His exhibition 'Telematch and Other Stories', featuring 'The Cave (Amsterdam)', highlights the universality of supermarkets and explores the tension between the capitalist world and religious identity. Shawky's work often revisits history through an Arab lens, creating new narratives by reimagining myths and historical events. His recent exhibition also includes contemporary reinterpretations of Korean legends with performances of pansori, a Korean musical storytelling form, in traditional Korean settings.
