The Seoul Museum of Art will open its first exhibition of 2025 featuring Kang Myung-hee, an influential Korean female artist. Known for her abstract paintings, Kang's work encompasses over 60 years of art, from early pieces from the 1960s to recent works. Having moved to France in 1972, she returned to Korea in 2007, residing in Jeju Island. Her work is deeply influenced by her connection with nature, often drawing inspiration from her surroundings. This exhibition highlights her unique method, likened to farming, where painting becomes a dialogue with the earth. The exhibit will run until June 8, with free admission. Visitors will experience Kang’s large-scale, detailed artwork that explores themes of nature, existence, and universal energy.
