Jo Hye-ryeon Stars in Heartfelt Play 'I Love You, Mom' at Daegu Seogu Cultural Center

The play 'I Love You, Mom' will be performed at Daegu Seogu Cultural Center on Feb. 21 with matinee and evening shows. Set in the 1980s, the drama follows a tenacious market vendor mother raising her son alone, exploring the hardships and enduring love within a family. The production emphasizes dialogue and emotional performance over elaborate sets, aiming to resonate with both parents and children. Broadcaster Jo Hye-ryeon directs and stars as the mother; her brother Jo Ji-hwan plays the father. The cast also includes Jung Ji-hwan (Cheoldong), Lee Seo-ju (Seon-young) and Kim Yeon-su (Heopung). The theater director hopes the play will remind audiences of the importance of family ahead of the Lunar New Year (Seollal).
