Incheon International Airport was crowded on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Seollal) holiday as about 1.22 million passengers are expected to travel through the airport over the extended break (up to five days). The airport authority has activated special traffic and operations plans from Feb 13–18, including opening major departure halls 30 minutes earlier, running advanced CT X-ray security scanners, adding about 240 volunteer and staff guides and 102 dedicated self-baggage drop attendants, expanding temporary parking by 4,550 spaces, and increasing shuttle services to Terminal 2 following airline shifts. Peak departures are forecast for Feb 14, with peak arrivals on Feb 18.
