The 34th Daegwallyeong Snow Festival in Pyeongchang runs through Feb. 22, featuring large snow slides, Olympic-themed snow and ice sculptures, curling, cross-country and biathlon shooting, and traditional games like tuho (arrow-throwing), jegichagi (shuttlecock kick), and yutnori (Korean board game). A headline event was the quirky 'naked marathon'—about 450 runners took part in 5 km and 10 km races on Feb. 14. The festival also offers a mobile stamp tour via the K-Stamp Tour app with checkpoints including the Daegwallyeong festival site and Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza; finishers receive souvenirs or travel cards. First held in 1993 to promote highland winter culture, the festival aims to boost the local economy and ties in with Pyeongchang’s Olympic legacy. A separate trout festival with open fishing runs until Feb. 16.
