Following a Supreme Court ruling favoring Pizza Hut franchisees, refund lawsuits over undisclosed 'price differential franchise fees' are spreading across South Korea’s franchise sector. Law firm Doa has signed MOUs with major coffee franchisee groups, including The Venti (a large, low-cost coffee chain) and Mega MGC Coffee, to provide legal support, collective negotiations, case analysis, and education. Hundreds of The Venti franchisees are preparing suits seeking return of unlawfully collected margins; Doa plans coordinated group actions, a dedicated legal hotline, and regular training on recent precedents and amended franchise law. The move positions Doa as a rising defender of franchisee rights in Korea’s coffee franchise market.
