T'way Air will begin five-times-weekly flights between Incheon and Jakarta from April 29 using an A330-300 with 347 seats, including 12 business-class seats. To attract early passengers the carrier is offering one-way fares from about 180,000 KRW as a promotional special until March 28. Industry observers view the Jakarta route as a valuable, stable market—unlike seasonal European routes—because Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, offers steady business travel demand from Korean companies and expatriates (교민). The route could improve seat yield and help T'way meet requirements for joining Star Alliance, which favors airlines with diverse long-haul networks and regular services. T'way says it expects solid demand but will monitor profitability as the service establishes itself.
