Ottogi has released a spring-limited instant noodle, 'Jukjangyeon Ppagae Jangmyeon', made in collaboration with traditional jang (fermented paste) brand Jukjangyeon. The seasonal product uses 'ppagaejang'—a traditional fermented soybean paste made by breaking up (ppagae) aged meju, then mixing in crushed chili seeds and barley—to create a rich, savory broth. This version adds salted shrimp and clams for depth and seasonal Hongseong spring naengi (Korean wildcress) for a fragrant, fresh note. The noodles contain about 20% rice flour for a soft yet chewy texture that pairs with the jang broth. It launched early at Emart and Ottogi Mall on Feb. 12 and will roll out across major online and offline channels from Feb. 26. Ottogi says the product aims to blend traditional flavors with seasonal ingredients and will continue developing items that reflect Korea’s culinary heritage and regional value.
