Jewelry brands in Korea are busy ahead of Valentine’s and White Day as couples choose pieces to signify love. Luxury houses highlighted signature and seasonal collections: Bulgari promoted its Serpenti line—originating from 1948 snake-motif watches (tubogas)—whose shedding-and-renewal symbolism represents a strengthening relationship. Tiffany & Co. pushed its Hardware collection, inspired by New York construction tools, with bold chain designs that evoke connection. Cartier’s iconic Love bracelet, introduced in 1969, is worn with a special screwdriver so only a partner can remove it, symbolizing everlasting love (inspired by medieval chastity belts). Chaumet’s “Be My Love” uses a honeycomb hexagon motif for love’s solidity, and Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra, inspired by a four-leaf clover, remains a luck symbol. Overall, bracelets and connected designs dominate as romantic tokens this season.
